Still known worldwide under its historical name Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam's largest city, envelops you in a dream of tradition and modernity. The Mekong River delivers what it promises: discover a new, alien world around every bend. At colourful markets you can enjoy sweet-smelling fruits, admire richly decorated pagodas and visit traditional businesses. Passing breathtaking mangrove swamps, you will drift leisurely along the lifeline of Southeast Asia to Cambodia. About 27 meters above Phnom Penh, five Buddha statues have been enthroned on the hill temple since 1372, from which this mysterious city owes its name. From the noble royal palace from the 19th century, stroll to the lush Silver Pagoda. The tour concludes with the temples in Angkor. Then, unfortunately, it's time to say goodbye.
Travel Itinerary
Departure from Frankfurt/Main to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)
Morning arrival at the airport in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). Then, take a panoramic tour of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). Transfer to the hotel for check-in, then lunch and continuation of the visit to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). Overnight at the Novotel Saigon Centre**** hotel (or similar) in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).
Breakfast at the hotel. Afterwards bus transfer from the hotel to My Tho (70 km from Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)). On the way to My Tho, stop at Cholon Market and visit a paint factory. Embarkation on the MS LA MARGUERITE. Lunch on board and departure in the afternoon. Enjoy a welcome cocktail and get to know the crew and captain. Dinner and traditional music show on board.
Arrival in Cái Bè in the morning. Enjoy breakfast before setting off on your excursion to the colorful Cái Bè floating market. You'll return to the ship for lunch as the ship sets course for Vnh Long. Vnh Long, called the "majestic dragon", is located in the center of the Mekong Delta. In the afternoon, continue to Sa Äéc. Night drive through the delta. All meals on board
Arrival in Tân Châu in the morning, a remote town on the Mekong River. After breakfast, you will be transferred on small boats to visit this charming village. This small town is representative of this part of Asia, which is characterized by rural areas and lively economic activity. Departure to the Cambodian border. In the evening drive on the wide Mekong to Phnom Penh. All meals on board.
Arrival in the morning in Phnom Penh. After breakfast, depart to visit the Cambodian capital, which has managed to retain its French colonial charm. Lunch on board. In the afternoon, the city tour continues with an excursion to the notorious "S 21", the former detention and torture center of the Cambodian civil war. Dinner & traditional Khmer dance show on board. All meals on board.
In the morning, MS LA MARGUERITE continues her journey to Silk Island. Take a leisurely stroll through the village of Chong Koh, a small silk weaving village, for a glimpse of local life. After lunch, visit Vat Phnom Hill. At a height of 27 meters, you will see the picturesque sanctuary dedicated to Mrs. Penh, who gave her name to the city. You will have free time for the rest of the day. All meals on board.
Arrival in Angkor Ban in the morning. Angkor Ban is one of the few villages that was neither burned nor destroyed during the Khmer Rouge period. Immerse yourself in the true, original Cambodia and discover the traditional houses on stilts, some of which are more than a century old. Back on board for the onward journey north. All meals on board.
In the morning you will dock at Wat Hanchey and after breakfast visit the pre-Angkorian temple on a hill overlooking the Mekong River. Back on board, lunch will be served. Continue to Kampong Cham. In the afternoon, you will set off to discover the temple of Wat Nokor. This twelfth-century Buddhist temple, built on the ruins of an ancient temple, is unique in Cambodia. All meals on board..
Early in the morning, disembark and bus transfer to Siem Reap. Stop at the Angkor-era Kampong Kdei Bridge. Arrival time at the hotel in Siem Reap around noon. After lunch, discover one of the ancient capitals of the Khmer Empire: Angkor Thom. The smiling face towers of Bayon Temple, the Elephant Terrace and the city gates are just a few highlights of the historic capital of Angkor. Dinner at the restaurant. Overnight at Hotel Somadevi Angkor and Spa ***** (or similar) in Siem Reap.
After breakfast, departure will take place. This day is entirely dedicated to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Angkor. In the morning, visit Banteay Srei Temple. Lunch at a restaurant in town. In the afternoon, visit the spectacular Ta Prohm. Surrounded by tropical vegetation, this temple was deliberately left in a state close to that of its rediscovery at the beginning of the 20th century. Now comes the highlight of this trip: The temple of Angkor Wat, the impressive masterpiece of Khmer architecture and probably the most fantastic temple complex in the world with incredible dimensions. You will return to the hotel with unforgettable impressions. Dinner at the restaurant and last night at the hotel.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport and flight back to Frankfurt/Main

What is insured?
You cannot or not as scheduled commence your journey because of the following event.

What will be replaced?
- In case of non-commencement of the journey, we replace you among other things the contractually owed travel cancellation costs
- In case of interruption of journey, we replace the provable incurrend additional return travel costs as well as proportionally unused travel services.
Deductible: For insurance premiums without a deductible, 100% reimbursement for all insured events. For insurance premiums with a partial deductible: For illness treated on an outpatient basis, the deductible is 20% of the reimbursable claim, but at least EUR 25 per insured person. No deductible i all other cases.
