Better known today by its historical name Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City, the largest city in Vietnam, envelops you in a dream of tradition and modernity. The Mekong keeps its promise: discover a new, strange world around every bend. Enjoy sweet-smelling fruit at colorful markets, admire richly decorated pagodas and visit traditional businesses. Passing breathtaking mangrove swamps, you drift leisurely along the lifeline of Southeast Asia to Cambodia. Since 1372, five Buddha statues have been enthroned some 27 meters above Phnom Penh on the hilltop temple to which this mysterious city owes its name. Stroll from the noble 19th century Royal Palace to the opulent Silver Pagoda. The trip ends with the temples in Angkor. Then, unfortunately, it's time to say goodbye.
Travel Itinerary
Arrival at the airport in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) in the morning. Then take a panoramic tour of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). Transfer to hotel for check-in, then lunch and continue the visit of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). Dinner in the city. Overnight at Hotel Novotel Saigon Centre**** (or similar) in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).
Breakfast at the hotel. Then bus transfer from the hotel to My Tho (70 km from Ho Chi Minh City/Saigon). On the way to My Tho, stop at the Cholon market and visit a paint factory. Embarkation on Board MS La Marguerite. Lunch on board and departure in the afternoon. Enjoy a welcome cocktail and get to know the crew and the captain. Dinner and traditional music show on board.
Arrival in Cái Bè in the morning. Enjoy breakfast before setting off on your excursion to the colorful Cái Bè floating market. Return to the ship for lunch as the ship sets course for Vnh Long. Vnh Long, called the “majestic dragonâ, is located in the center of the Mekong Delta. In the afternoon, continue to Sa Äéc. Night cruise through the delta. All meals on board
Arrival in the morning in Tân Châu, a remote town on the Mekong. After breakfast, transfer on small boats to visit this charming town. This small town is representative of this part of Asia, which is characterized by rural areas and lively economic activity. Departure for the Cambodian border. Evening cruise on the wide Mekong River to Phnom Penh. All meals on board.
Arrival in Phnom Penh in the morning. After breakfast, departure for a tour of the Cambodian capital, which has retained its French colonial charm. Lunch on board. In the afternoon, continuation of the city tour with an excursion to the infamous “S 21â, the former detention and torture center of the Cambodian civil war. Dinner & traditional Khmer dance show on board. All meals on board.
In the morning, MS La Marguerite continues its journey to Silk Island. Take a leisurely stroll through the village of Chong Koh, a small silk weaving village, to gain an insight into local life. After lunch, visit the Vat Phnom hill. At a height of 27 meters, you will see the picturesque sanctuary dedicated to Mrs. Penh, who gave her name to the city. The rest of the day is at leisure. All meals on board.
Arrival in Angkor Ban in the morning. Angkor Ban is one of the few villages that was neither burned nor destroyed during the Khmer Rouge era. Immerse yourself in the true, original Cambodia and discover the traditional houses on stilts, some of which are more than a century old. Back on board for the onward journey north. All meals on board.
In the morning you will dock in Wat Hanchey and after breakfast visit the pre-Angkorian temple on a hill overlooking the Mekong. Lunch is served back on board. Continue to Kampong Cham. In the afternoon, set off to discover the temple of Wat Nokor. This twelfth-century Buddhist temple, built on the ruins of an ancient temple, is unique in Cambodia. All meals on board.
Disembark early in the morning and transfer by bus to Siem Reap. Stop at the Kampong Kdei Bridge from the Angkor period. Arrive at the hotel in Siem Reap around noon. After lunch, discover one of the ancient capitals of the Khmer empire: Angkor Thom. The smiling face towers of the Bayon Temple, the Elephant Terrace and the city gates are just some of the highlights of the historic capital of Angkor. Dinner at the restaurant. Overnight stay at the Hotel Somadevi Angkor and Spa ***** (or similar) in Siem Reap.
Departure after breakfast. This day is dedicated entirely to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Angkor. In the morning you will visit the Banteay Srei temple. Lunch in a restaurant in the city. In the afternoon, visit the spectacular Ta Prohm. Surrounded by tropical vegetation, this temple has been deliberately left in a state similar to its rediscovery at the beginning of the 20th century. Now comes the highlight of this trip: The temple of Angkor Wat, the impressive masterpiece of Khmer architecture and probably the most fantastic temple complex in the world with incredible dimensions. You return to the hotel with unforgettable impressions. Dinner at the restaurant and last overnight stay at the hotel.
A fascinating journey ends after breakfast
The modern 4-star Novotel Saigon Centre hotel is located in the city center near Notre Dame Cathedral and the Reunification Palace. It offers an outdoor pool, sauna, soothing spa treatments and spacious, air-conditioned rooms with free WLAN internet access.

What is insured?
You cannot or not as scheduled commence your journey because of the following event.

What will be replaced?
- In case of non-commencement of the journey, we replace you among other things the contractually owed travel cancellation costs
- In case of interruption of journey, we replace the provable incurrend additional return travel costs as well as proportionally unused travel services.
Deductible: For insurance premiums without a deductible, 100% reimbursement for all insured events. For insurance premiums with a partial deductible: For illness treated on an outpatient basis, the deductible is 20% of the reimbursable claim, but at least EUR 25 per insured person. No deductible i all other cases.
